Congratulations to last year's the winners!

Last year year, we received a great number of MARTA worker commendations from riders. We hosted the first annual award ceremony in their honor on March 18th, National Transit Worker Appreciation Day, where each nominated worker received the prestigious Medal of Achievement.

A panel of judges reviewed all the nominations and selected a winner based on the commendation. Nathaniel Smith won the MARTA Kudos award for his exceptional valor in the line of duty:

Nate is one of the friendliest and most outgoing bus driver I have EVER encountered. He is known and knows everyone on the route 3 bus from 5 Points to Candler Park Station. I see him lift customer’s spirits, help out of town visitors get to their destinations, and generally show an elevated sense of gallantness and humor for all the denizens along the route and those lucky enough to ride with him. He is a positive ambassador for MARTA and should be acknowledged as such. I ride with him a couple times a week for a couple years now and he is unfailingly excellent in his job. So this is for the accumulated acts of niceness and humor which he brings to his job, not just a single days work. Kudos to Nate.
