What Is Transit U?

Transit U is a multi-level set of “courses”, each consisting of a quiz and assignments. The courses are of increasing level of difficulty. You get printable fun certificates upon completion of each level.

Purpose of Transit U

Transit U helps members of the general public to familiarize themselves with public transit in Atlanta through fun quizzes and activities. Quizzes and activities are rotated regularly and get more difficult with each level.

It is important for us to educate folks about how public transit is organized and operated in the Atlanta region. Qualified participants can access MARTA Army membership and get perks to our events.

Membership Levels and Fees

Levels and fees are as follows. Each membership level has a fee and lasts one year during which access to the quizzes is possible and completion targets should be met to receive the level’s certificate.

  • Level 1: Free - No prerequisites. One set of Level 1 quiz/activity required.

  • Level 2: $5/year. Requires Level 1 completion. Two sets of Level 2 quiz/activity required for completion, minimum 30 days between sets.

  • Level 3: $10/year. Requires Level 2 completion. Two sets of Level 3 quiz/activity required for completion, minimum 30 days between sets.

  • Level 4: $20/year. Requires Level 3 completion. Three sets of Level 4 quiz/activity required for completion, minimum 30 days between sets.

Expectations from participants

Participants will have to correctly answer some quizzes and complete assignments in order to progress through the levels. Quizzes and assignments are open book. A membership fee applies except for the most basic course level.

To complete some assignments, you may have to purchase and pay transit fare or other items, and you will not be reimbursed for these costs. You are expected to adhere to the transit rider etiquette or code of conduct from any applicable transit provider.

Any travel or activity you do in conjunction with Transit U is voluntary and at your own risk. You agree not to sue and agree to defend/hold MARTA Army Inc. harmless in the course of these activities.
